Merchandising: 'Flash' Exclusives Run to Retail

Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment’s Aug. 29 release of The Flash on Blu-ray Disc and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray included several exclusive retailer editions.

The release pattern for The Flash home video editions represents a departure from the combo packs the studio usually offers. Instead of 4K + Blu-ray or Blu-ray + DVD combo packs, the film’s wide release is standalone 4K, Blu-ray or DVD, each with an add-on digital copy.

The multidisc combo packs this time were left to the retail exclusives.

Best Buy offered its usual Steelbook packaging with a 4K + Blu-ray combo pack, at $36.99.

Walmart also had a 4K/Blu-ray combo pack, with fold-out cardboard “Icon Edition” packaging adorned with artwork from the film, for $34.96.

Target had a Blu-ray + DVD combo pack with unique box art and four packed-in character cards, for $26.99.
